Modern astronomy is no longer limited to what the human eye can see. Our understanding of the universe depends on space telescopes that observe invisible wavelengths and on the Deep Space Network (DSN) that connects Earth to spacecraft billions of kilometers away. This course introduces students to: How space telescopes work Why telescopes are placed in space How astronomical data is collected and interpreted How communication with distant spacecraft is made possible Why DSN is critical for deep-space missions and space science By the end of this course, students will understand how humanity sees the universe and listens to space.
